Since December 1995, the Union of the Netherlands, Surinam and the Netherlands Antilles has an educational foundation thanks to donations from some members.
The purpose of the Foundation is:
to grant one or more women from Central or Eastern European countries a scholarship for a study or professional training. This study or training must preferably been undertaken in the Netherlands, and be intended to improve the situation of the applicant in her home country.
The maximum of the grant is € 5900.
The applicants may be Soroptimists or non-Soroptimists, the only provision being that they are recommended by the Soroptimist Union or by a Single Club in their country.
Every year all Unions and single clubs in Eastern Europe will receive in the autumn an Application Form.
