Het was vele eeuwen de realiteit, maar er waren altijd individuen die het toch lukte hun gaven te ontwikkelen. Was Hedy Lamarr alleen maar die mooie filmster of was zij in haar jonge jaren de niet-erkende uitvinder? Hoe kon een fictief konijn het leven van Beatrix Potter redden? Het verst terug in de geschiedenis is het strijdvaardige en aangrijpende verhaal over de kunstschilder Artemisia Gentileschi (1593-1653), die na een verkrachting zich weet los te worstelen van het patriarchaat en succesvol kunstschilder wordt, zij is de eerste vrouw die werd toegelaten tot de Accademia dell\u2019Arte in Florance.<\/p>\n<p>De toehoorders konden na de presentatie het mooi ge\u00efllustreerde\u00a0 boek kopen en laten signeren. Het Rotterdamsch Leeskabinet omarmt ons initiatief van harte. Het werd opgericht in 1859 om Rotterdammers te voorzien van een boekerij en leeszaal.
