ENG: Prof. Felisa Tibbitts, Chair in Human Rights Education, traveled to Myanmar in June to carry out a Policy Seminar with the Ministry of Education on the inclusion of themes of Education for Sustainable Development and Peace within the national curriculum. This seminar is supported by the UNESCO Office in Myanmar and involved over 100 representatives from the government, inter-governmental agencies and civil society. The Ministry agreed to continue working with UNESCO in these thematic areas and Prof. Tibbitts is preparing an Options Paper for next steps.

NL: Prof. Felisa Tibbitts, Hoogleraar Mensenrechtenducatie is in juni naar Myanmar gereisd om een politiek seminar te houden tezamen met de minister van Educatie over thema ‘Education for Sustainable Development and Peace’ binnen het nationale programma.Dit seminar werd gesponsored door de UNESCO afdeling in Myanmar. In deze afdeling zijn 100 afgevaardigden vanuit de regering, inter-governmental organisaties en de civiele gemeenschap vertegenwoordigd. Het ministerie heeft ingestemd om door te gaan met dit programma en de samenwerking met UNESCO en Prof. Tibbitts bereidt een ‘Option Paper’ voor waarin de volgende stappen worden opgenomen.
